Scalable content marketing strategy and operations
About me
I’m the Director of Content Strategy at Klaviyo––joining the team prior to IPO to scale content operations, demand generation, and content user journeys.
I started my career at a content farm mere weeks before they IPO’ed, which is where I learned all about how to make things rank on the web (It was a looottt easier back then).
Then, I ventured into fashion & beauty journalism by way of curly hair. I helped build NaturallyCurly.com into a multi-million reader website, helped evangelize the curly hair typing system, and worked with L’oreal to remove ingredients harmful to curly hair from their products (bye-bye sulfates).
That work introduced me to the editors at Hearst & Conde Nast. I then moved to New York City, worked at Elle.com, Time Out New York, and Mashable – jumping between fashion shoots, fashion shows, and reporting on new e-commerce technologies, trends, and the data that was driving it all.
I became obsessed with big data through interviews with tech founders, and landed a role back in Austin, TX where I wrote about data privacy and digital rights before I joined BigCommerce, became their Global Editor in Chief, and built another million monthly reader audience talking about building sustainable online businesses, headless commerce, commerce stacks, and integrated marketing strategies.
I then went on to head up the marketing teams at two early-stage start-ups, Eterneva & MarketerHire, learning all about the work it takes to go from 0 to 1. There, I dove in lifecycle marketing work, managed development teams, and worked side-by-side with finance and sales leaders to ensure we were putting every dollar to the best possible use.
I’ve consulted with Texas Monthly, Hotjar, Amazon, Convey, 2PM, and countless others. I taught a course on Skillshare. I’ve built an AI content analyzer to audit content libraries for companies.
